Well, why not? Everybody reads, even if it’s just the side of your morning packet of Crunchy Nut. We want to put together a week that will have something for everyone – and definitely not those stereotypical book events where a boring author drones on for 40 minutes about his influences (some obscure Victorian you’ve never heard of) and the nature of writing.
Ugh, no. Not that.
The idea for the Lewisham LitFest is a week of informal and interesting events (with a bar). If you’re bored, we’ve failed. We’re planning a mix of fiction, history, performance poetry, storytelling for grown ups and plenty of stuff for the kids. Keep an eye on this site, follow us on Twitter, join the Facebook page (when we set it up) and we’ll let you know what’s happening.
